While in Virginia Beach, we decided to head to Back Bay Wildlife Refuge for the day, but the wind picked up until it was not pleasant to be anywhere near the water. We spent a little time at a small park near the entrance of the Refuge. I noticed the sand had blown smooth, so I took a couple quick pictures at a fast shutter speed to freeze the plants in the wind. This image is my favorite. Tip....when in wind at the beach, you must protect your camera from sand and water. A hotel shower cap can be pulled over the camera and still see the LCD screen. Also, never and I mean never change your lens at the beach, especially if there is a breeze (there's always a breeze). The mist and sand can cause permanent damage to your sensor and the delicate electronics in the camera.
