Gulf Coast, Florida

This is a sunset on the west coast of Florida. I wanted an image of the sunset with the sea gulls in it. The exposure seemed almost impossible, either the birds were blurry or the sunset was blown out completely. The sun was going to break through the clouds, so before the sunset was gone, I took a shot to expose for the sunset with a high F-stop to get the depth of field I wanted. Then I had to be patient and wait for the gulls to fly in front of the camera. I took several images as the birds flew by until I got one I wanted. With the magic of Photoshop CS5, I took the flying birds from one image and put them in the sunset shot.
