One rule of thumb about photography that I have learned the hard way is: "If your camera isn't with you, you're not going to get the shot". I have missed many pictures because my camera was at home or in the car. This time I was prepared; my camera went to work with me and so did my tripod. This image was taken near my work in Freeport, PA. It was almost dark when I left work and the sun had been down for 15 minutes or so, but the sky had a faint glow. I set up my tripod and camera and took several shots on manual with long exposures and got one I liked. People have asked me if the colors are enhanced; they are actually desaturated to remove some of the pink from the snow. |
I love winter shots. Beautiful.
