Babcock State Park, West Virginia

I only had a half hour to see this park and got very lucky that the light was this good. It had been raining the entire trip from Pittsburgh and only stopped a few minutes before I arrived. This image was made with 3 shots in HDR post processing. I tried to use a lighter hand while working with the photo, as HDR can look to surreal. I hope to return to the park and spend more time, there are many possibilities here I would like to pursue.   

Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

This park is huge area of land and I regretfully only allowed for one day to visit on this trip. We had overcast weather, so the scenic shots were very limited. To me, this shot was the most intriguing image of the visit to this park. Might try to get back here on a future trip to Colorado.

Little Buffalo Creek, Freeport Pa.

This is a spot where  Little Buffalo Creek runs into Buffalo Creek north of Freeport. In the winter, with snow, this can be a very pretty spot.  This image was made by stitching 5 shots in Photoshop CS5. I wanted the image to have the feel of a painting and played around with several filters in in Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. I have to admit, I have always  envied people who can paint, it is a great skill.  Having tried to paint, I guess I will settle for Photography, for my creative outlet.

Cowanshannock Creek, Armstrong County

This is a small creek that runs into the Allegheny River,  just upstream of Kittanning, PA.
I first found it fly fishing with a friend and have been back several times, to fish and photograph this rocky stream. This was shot with a Nikon D80 on a Manfrotto tripod. A slow shuttle speed was used to smooth out the water. The sun was setting behind me and the low light brought out the colors in the rocks and water. I have tried this spot in the morning at sunrise and it does not work; sometimes the right place and the right time.....
