Day break at the Grand Canyon
This image was taken before sun rise at the south rim of the Grand Canyon. This picture is one I liked, because of the mist in the layers of the canyon, and the blue colors of day break.

Grand Canyon sunset, South Rim
This Image is one of my favorite pics from our trip to the southwest. I think it's the fading layers of the canyon that I like most. The star burst was created with a small aperture, not software, don't get me wrong I'm not beyond adding to a photo to create interest.....not this time. The Grand Canyon is a photographers paradise, but only at daybreak and dusk, the beautiful colors wash out once the sun gets higher in the sky.

The Pedestal, Grand Canyon, South Rim
This is a sunrise picture. It was taken just as the sun broke the horizon. Backlighting like this can be difficult to get the exposure right. I used a spot meter reading on the rocks in the foreground and shot in RAW to give me a little leeway.
